Where can I go and how far can I travel ?
If you travel between 4 miles per hour and 7 mph, the boat's
maximum speed cruising for 4 hours each day will take you
80-100 miles in a week and of course you are able to travel
anywhere in the waters covered by your boat's licence. These
details are available on-line as you search our website for
your ideal boat in your ideal location. You can also view
cruising route maps.
Where can I stop?
One of the more enjoyable
aspects of boating is that you can stop and go as you
please. There will be a manual on your boatthat is packed
with information about where you can moor. THe most popular
moorings are naturally closest to pubs and restuarants,
villages and towns - a small mooring change is usually
made..
What do I do at locks?
Don't be apprehensive
about managing locks. They are part of the fun and you
simply motor in, close the gates behind you then open other
gates to let the water in and change the water level. Then
just open the gates in front and motor out on your journey
of discovery. In Europe, and in Britain on the
Thames, Caledonian Canal and parts of the Cambridgeshire
Waterway, there are larger locks with lock-keepers to do the
work for you.
There are no locks on the Norfolk
Broads.
